John,
For those of us celebrating Ramadan, we are continuing to observe the Nights of Power this week. These nights are amongst the holiest nights of Ramadan.
For me, it means reflecting deeper on the meaning and messages of Ramadan — as well as manifesting teachings such as prayer, reflection and reaping the multiple rewards of these nights through giving even more charity.
During this special time, I hope you will make a gift to help us reach children and families affected by humanitarian crises in places like Yemen. To make the impact of your gift even stronger, all donations are being TRIPLED — but only for a limited time.

John, for over six years, Yemenis have endured ten airstrikes every day, on average. This daily terror affects the physical safety and emotional wellbeing of Yemeni families. It also puts their health at risk especially given the conflict has destroyed approximately half the medical facilities in the country.
According to our experts here at the IRC, a hunger crisis like the one Yemenis are experiencing is inevitable when nearly 1,000 markets, farms and food storage facilities are bombed and import restrictions price families out of basic goods. Malnutrition and disease outbreaks are what happens when health facilities are attacked or denied critical supplies.
We cannot sit idly by while this is all going on... not with children like Tahani counting on us.

Tahani is two years old and lives with her parents and six other young siblings in Yemen's Al-Sawda camp. Her dad's motorcycle rental business earns just enough to supply the family with tea, bread, and sometimes vegetables. But not every day. This lack of food has left Tahani suffering from malnutrition and anemia.
Her mother, Assrar, reflected on the pain of watching her child suffer: "When she feels sick, I feel sick as well, because there is nothing in our hands to do for her."
Assrar and her husband were able to get Tahani to the IRC's mobile health clinic for nutritional support and medical care. And finally, with great care following a few setbacks, Tahani is showing signs of recovery.
You can help children just like Tahani get the care and support they need, along with their families. Last year, the IRC provided health services for over 600,000 Yemenis and treated nearly 30,000 children under 5 for malnutrition — thanks in large part to supporters like you. We also provide education, clean water, emergency supplies, and job training

As we continue to observe the Nights of Power, whether you celebrate Ramadan or not, I hope you will make an urgent and much-needed gift. It will be tripled, helping us to make a greater impact in Yemen and around the world.
Ramadan Kareem,
Madiha Raza
