In case you missed it yesterday, Republicans in the state legislature’s Joint Finance Committee slashed the far-left liberal wish list contained in Tony Evers’ proposed state budget.

Here are just some of the anti-growth policies that Republicans trashed from Evers’ proposed budget:

$1 billion tax hike
New tax increases on businesses while our economy is still recovering
Government-run health care
Crippling of school choice programs, including for special needs students
Allowing illegal immigrants to get driver’s licenses and in-state tuition
Rollback on Act 10
Fossil fuels penalty that would have driven up energy costs
“Environmental justice” proposals

Now is the worst possible time to hike taxes and burden taxpayers with liberal priorities while small business owners and families are still recovering from the impact of COVID-19 and Evers’ costly lockdowns. Thankfully, Wisconsin taxpayers can look forward to Republicans’ state budget, which will be responsible, realistic and put Wisconsinites first -- not big government bureaucrats.
