John —

In just a moment, I’m going to ask you to make a contribution toward my campaign for Lt. Governor. But first, I hope you will give me a chance to explain why this request is so important — especially today.

I was 24 and working at a gas station when I found out I was pregnant — and I didn’t have access to health care. For my son and I, Medicaid saved our lives.

After my son was born, I worked hard to complete my degree and got a job as a cyber security specialist with the Department of Homeland Security. But still, I found myself struggling to put food on the table and keep a roof over my family’s head.

My story isn’t unique. Too many Virginians have been left out by the system that keeps working families like mine on the menu while folks at the top sit comfortably at the table. So, I threw my hat in the ring and ran for office to change that.

I was elected to the House of Delegates in 2017 and I’m so proud of what we’ve accomplished for working families since then — from finally ratifying the Equal Rights Amendment to expanding medicaid for 500,000 Virginians to abolishing the death penalty to legalizing marijuana.

But still, many Virginia families are struggling in the wake of this public health crisis to afford prescriptions and put food on the table. There is still so much work ahead of us.

John, I’m humbly asking for your support today because I believe that I can continue to build on our progressive agenda and make a difference for so many working families as Virginia’s next Lt. Governor. So, will you chip in $10 or whatever you can afford toward our campaign? I can’t do it without you.
