John,
COVID-19 has laid bare the failures of many societal systems, especially around child care and access to high-quality education. So much so, that around 10 million U.S. mothers living with their school-age children were not actively working in January 2021 – 1.4 million more than during the same month last year. [1]
Reproaction works to ensure affordable, supportive child care is included in the fight for a better future. Help support this work with a donation.
The child care crisis hits women of color and single mothers hardest, and advocating for these communities and families is central in the struggle for reproductive justice. As we begin to lift out of COVID restrictions, it is vital to remember that access to child care was also broken before the pandemic. It’s time to create better supports for families.
Everyone should be able to raise children in safe, healthy communities, including moms in need of child care support. Give now.
Sincerely,
Erin Matson
Executive Director, Reproaction
P.S. Flowers get thrown out. Chocolates melt. But reproductive justice is forever. Gift it today.
