The Seattle Times:
Give a whistle back to election referees
"U.S. Rep. Derek Kilmer...has been pushing to reform the FEC for years, and he's gotten some traction."
Derek's election reform policy was included in a reform bill that the House passed earlier this year. Will you add your name to call on the Senate to pass campaign finance reform legislation?

The Federal Election Commission (FEC) is supposed to be the "referee" on campaign finance issues to keep politicians and groups from cheating. But in recent years, the FEC has left the playing field due to partisan gridlock. Unfortunately, this has left our system even more open to abuse.
Derek has visited every nook and cranny of the district he represents. And nobody – not anyone, anywhere – has ever said to him, "You know – we want to make it easier for politicians to cheat." But we have exciting news, friend: The Seattle Times recently endorsed Derek's election reform proposals!
Taking inspiration from Washington state's own redistricting commission, Derek is leading the fight to reform the FEC in Congress. His proposal will take the commission down to five members with a requirement that at least one be independent and nonpartisan.
It's time to bring the FEC back to the election playing field and ensure it remains active and responsive for future elections to come. Derek's proposal has already been widely endorsed and was even included in the House's election reform bill that passed earlier this year.
Now it's time for the Senate to pass these critical reforms, but it won't be easy. We need your help to show the Senate how much public support there is to reform the FEC and ensure clean and fair elections. Will you add your name to stand with Derek in this fight?
