| WASHINGTON — Education Secretary Miguel Cardona visited Amidon-Bowen Elementary in Washington last week. In his remarks, Cardona emphasized the use of the American Rescue Plan funds for more than simply safety measures. “We should also be looking at those funds to provide more social, emotional, and mental health support for our students, keeping in mind we’re still in the middle of a pandemic and they’ve experienced tremendous trauma,” Cardona said.
