friend, Four months after the deadly attack on the U.S. Capitol, leading U.S. colleges and universities – including George Mason University, George Washington University, Tufts University, and the University of Arizona – have not yet cut off financial ties to the Koch network that funded three of the groups central to the January 6th insurrection. Our new report, “America’s Campuses Need to Distance Themselves From the Koch-Funded Insurrection,” details how the Koch network funded the eight U.S. Senators who voted against ratifying the election of President Joseph Biden and also bankrolled three of the key groups – Rule of Law Defense Fund, Turning Point Action, and Tea Party Patriots – that did “robocalling” to get people to Washington, provided buses to ship them there in large numbers, and then let some of the most violent individuals loose on the U.S. Capitol. We spoke about our report in a press conference recorded this week: |

To date, none of the four higher education institutions strongly tied to the Koch network have severed their ties with the funders of the insurrection. In response, we have launched No More Koch Cash, to prompt both universities and progressive organizations to commit to divesting and/or not accepting Koch money now and in the future. So far, over 30 organizations have signed on as well as hundreds of individuals. Please read our new report, check out our video conference, and head on over to No More Koch Cash to join hundreds of others in standing up to the Koch network and their dirty money. In Solidarity, Jasmine Banks, Executive Director |
