As Denver starts to open up and our vaccination rate rises, if more slowly than we'd like, we hope you are all keeping as safe and healthy as possible. We've got a whole bunch of upcoming events in the chapter and the community we hope you'll join us for!

Chapter Steering
Committee elections are coming at next month's general meeting! If you're a member in good standing, please consider
nominating yourself for one of the following roles:
Co-Chair:
set agendas for and facilite business, steering committee, and
organizing committee meetings as well represent the chapter as a
public face. There are two co-chairs
Treasurer: manage the chapter's funds and financial reporting
Secretary: organize meetings, take minutes and manage current membership, especially in Action Network
Coordination Chair: help to committees work together and organize chapter-wide events and programs
Membership
Chair: organize new member recruitment and onboarding efforts,
including our upcoming New Member Handbook, our biweekly orientation
calls, and organizing trainings
Fundraising Chair: bring funding to the chapter by publicizing existing fundraising methods (like our monthly donations page), t-shirt drives, and in the near future, in-person events!
Communications Chair: manage our socialmediapages, handle press contacts, and bottom-line this newsletter

🌹Stop Abusive Landlords
Here's something you can do right now to support transformative reforms in this year’s state legislative session!
SB 21-173, Rights In Residential Lease Agreements prevents landlords from charging exorbitant late fees and enacts a number of critical eviction court reforms. The bill establishes penalties for illegal evictions and prohibits evictions over late fees alone.
The bill passed through the Senate, but not without a few hostile amendments that weakened a couple of provisions. We need to prevent the CO Apartment Association from hurting the bill any further, and to push House members to repeal the Senate amendments!
From 1-4pm at Little Cheesman Park - come say hi to some friendly faces and sign or grab a clipboard yourself and help spread the word about how we're going to stop unjust evictions in Denver!
