Nottingham Puppet Festival is set to return for 2021 as The Theatre Royal & Royal Concert Hall, City Arts, and Nottingham Trent University, have announced new dates.

Locations around the city centre will come alive with a vibrant and fun programme of everything puppetry. From spellbinding adventures and storytelling for kids, to larger than life curious creatures and creations, plus screenings, workshops and online content.

Join Maid Marionette and a whole host of rebellious puppets, or blast into space with Ditto Theatre? with ?Rocket Girl?...and so much more packed, all in an action-packed long weekend.

In order to keep everyone safe (including the puppets!) organisers will be maintaining Covid-safe measures throughout, with many performances or events limited in capacity or accessed via a timed booking system. The majority of tickets (free or otherwise) will need to be booked online in advance for all performances.

Five actors, with all manner of musical instruments, present an inventive take on Shakespeare?s raucous comedy The Merry Wives Of Windsor. In this mischievous play, jealousy, disguise and seduction lead to hilarious and unexpected results.

Prepare for a carnival of passion and imagination, as The Fools present this rip-roaring Shakespearean comedy, come rain come shine, in the amazing setting of Wollaton Park outdoors!

Expect fast-paced drama, plenty of musical instruments and many a quick costume change along the way!

Grimm Night... and the forest spirits are wandering as you enjoy an enchanted evening of storytelling with Heartbreak Productions, entering the fantastical world of the Brothers Grimm.

Never heard of the Grimm? It used to live in the Black Forest, but now travels through forests across the UK looking for children?s voices to steal. To prevent this, one must tell it stories.

Retelling these stories ? originally, the fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm comes from straight from this legend.
