Last June, Katie Porter started Truth to Power PAC to create an avenue of support for political candidates who would join her in Congress to stand up to corporate special interests, lobbyists, and corrupt politicians—all while unapologetically fighting for progressive values.
Truth to Power operates on the belief that Washington needs new leaders who will be independent voices for change and fight to reform our political system and economy. And in 2020, Katie and the Truth to Power team were able to help send six new candidates to Congress: Cori Bush (MO-01), Ben Ray Luján (NM-SEN), Ritchie Torres (NY-15), Jamaal Bowman (NY-16), Mondaire Jones (NY-17), and Carolyn Bourdeaux (GA-07).

You may have heard us (and Rep. Porter!) say this many times already, but it’s true: there is no off-year in politics. We’ve already endorsed two progressive champions for office in 2021, and we’re planning our strategy for 2022 now.
All of our Truth to Power candidates refuse money from corporate PACs and lobbyists–so they are only fighting on behalf of working families, never special interests. We’re proud to be largely funded by individual donors and supporters and who chip in when they can.
