Last month, the House passed the Washington, D.C. Admissions Act: Historic legislation that would make Washington, D.C. the 51st state.
And now, with Democratic control of the Senate, we have a real opportunity to bring TRUE representation to the more than 700,000 residents of the district.
A new Data for Progress poll found that a majority of voters support D.C. statehood, but we want to hear from our top supporters: Should the District of Columbia become the 51st state?

Today, residents of D.C. pay more in federal taxes than their counterparts in 22 other states—but they have no say in how those tax dollars are spent. They abide by the laws of this country but have no representative or senators to debate and vote on those laws before they are passed. Statehood would change that.
So we want to know what you think: Do you support D.C. statehood?
