Since Human Coalition began in 2010, your support, along with so many others, has rescued over 20,000 children from the horror of abortion.

It’s an amazing number to think about. Because behind each number is not only a child who has life outside the womb, but an entire family that’s been changed forever – all because YOU cared!

With Mother’s Day coming up this weekend, I’ve been reflecting on how you’ve specifically impacted moms over the years.

It may surprise you to hear that roughly 75% of moms who come to Human Coalition looking for abortion information say they would prefer to parent if their circumstances were better. They are often facing tangible challenges, such as financial hardship, job loss, or homelessness. Additionally, many of them have at least one child already.

Tragically, moms in these situations often end up at an abortion clinic like Planned Parenthood, where their greatest fears about having a child are reinforced and preyed upon.

Planned Parenthood isn’t giving them real help or hope. They aren’t empowering women with resources to improve their situation. Instead, women become another opportunity for the clinic to profit. Then, once the clinic succeeds in killing the child and getting their money, moms are sent on their way to deal with the trauma of their decision on their own.

But thanks to your partnership with Human Coalition, the National Rescue System is reaching moms facing these exact circumstances — providing the immediate, comprehensive care that they don’t find at Planned Parenthood.

One example of a mom who was rescued, thanks to your support, is “Eliza.”

When Eliza found out she was pregnant, finances were already tight. She had two young children. And she was struggling to provide for her family.

Abortion seemed like the only option, so she called an abortion clinic, where she was able to get in for an initial appointment a few days later. Still, she felt unsettled and was desperate to see someone immediately.

She made another phone call, and this time, she reached Human Coalition’s Contact Center. Eliza told the call agent that she needed help right away. Because of your support of the National Rescue System, one of Human Coalition’s nearby Women’s Care Clinics was able to accommodate her schedule and see her for an appointment that very day.

When Eliza arrived she met with a counselor, who compassionately listened to her story. Eliza started opening up to her. She admitted that she did not really believe in abortion. She shared that she never imagined being in this position. But despite those feelings, she couldn’t see a reasonable path forward to take on another child.

The counselor encouraged Eliza that she did have other options. She shared that there were resources available to address the needs of Eliza’s entire family and connected her to a care coordinator. Together, Eliza and the care coordinator put together a plan to overcome her obstacles and provide for her entire family.

Finally, Eliza began to see a path to stability and felt empowered to make the decision she had wanted to make all along: she chose LIFE for her precious baby, “Kyle.”

Without your support, Eliza would have never been connected to the National Rescue System. She would have never received the encouragement and resources she needed. And Mother’s Day would have become a painful reminder of the decision she made to abort.

However, thanks to generous pro-life partners like YOU, Eliza was reached with help and hope. And she will get to celebrate Mother’s Day with all her children this weekend.
