The Gag Rule Must Go. This Is Our Chance

I'll never forget the kindness and respect I received during my first visit to a Planned Parenthood health center.

I was a scared high school senior, focused on getting into college and stressing myself out in the process. I didn't know it then, but stress can cause an irregular cycle. I went three months without getting my period and, even though I practiced safe sex, I feared the worst: that I was pregnant.

My family didn't have health insurance, but I wanted reassurance from a trusted professional. I went to my local Planned Parenthood.

I started sobbing from relief when they confirmed I wasn't pregnant. They gave me the care, education, and compassion I needed. After that, Planned Parenthood health centers provided me with birth control, STI testing, and annual exams at no cost — thanks to the Title X program. Then came the Trump administration's gag rule, forcing Planned Parenthood out of Title X and blocking people like me from getting the care we need in Title X.

Make no mistake: The Title X gag rule needs to be repealed to ensure people can access the care they need. Please add your voice before the comment period ends!

The gag rule is dangerous to patients who don't have health insurance — like me when I first went to that Planned Parenthood health center. The Title X program is supposed to ensure everyone can access critical health care.

I'm now a proud Planned Parenthood volunteer, and I'm thankful I can help those who helped me when I thought I had no one. Without Title X, I wouldn't have been able to focus on getting my degree, starting my career, or giving back to my community.

Can we count on you to tell the Biden-Harris administration to swiftly repeal the Title X gag rule?

We believe that health care is a human right — join us in fighting for all people to have access to what's rightfully ours.

Thank you for listening to my story, and thank you for taking action.
