Hello,
Children who attend pre-K are better prepared for school, more likely to graduate, and more likely to succeed in the job market. As Bob says, "When a child learns more earlier in life, they earn more later in our workforce."
Unfortunately, far too many families can't afford pre-K programs. A patchwork of state, local, and employer-sponsored programs provides funding or subsidies for some families while others fall through the cracks. Children without access to affordable pre-K face greater obstacles as they start school and later in life, and their parents are often forced to stay home instead of working for money they need to make ends meet.
President Biden and Senator Casey are fighting to change that. Bob has long been an advocate for universal pre-K in the Senate, and President Biden's American Families Plan could finally make it possible.
Bob and President Biden need you to help build the support necessary to make pre-K education available to every child and family. If you support universal pre-K, join us in taking action now.
Giving families access to free or affordable care isn't a new idea. A national childcare program was key to allowing women to go to work during World War II, and Congress actually passed a program to create a national daycare system in 1971 before President Nixon vetoed it.
Other wealthy nations have invested heavily in early childhood education, yet the United States has missed out on this opportunity to help children and families thrive.
Now is the time to finally give our children the early childhood education they deserve and to give more parents the choice to find fulfilling work outside the home.
If you agree, add your name and tell Congress to pass the American Families Plan now.
Thank you,
Team Casey
