When Josh Hawley was recently asked if he regretted punching his fist in the air to show solidarity with pro-Trump protestors outside the Capitol on January 6 – just hours before the crowd violently stormed the building – he had an opportunity to take accountability for his role in the insurrection.
Hawley said he didn’t regret what he did.
Josh Hawley is one of eight Senators who betrayed our country by refusing to certify the results of a free and fair election after President Biden defeated Donald Trump. He and other extremist Republicans in Congress have faced zero accountability for encouraging and supporting the January 6 insurrection.
Ro is fighting back against corrupt GOP officials like Hawley every day, but we need your support to continue to fuel his fight.
Josh Hawley isn’t only guilty of betraying our democracy by supporting the Capitol insurrection. He also recently cast the ONLY vote against Senator Mazie Hirono’s bill addressing the rise of hate crimes and violence against the AAPI community.
His actions are indefensible. While Ro and his Democratic colleagues have been working tirelessly to bring emergency relief to working families during the pandemic, extremist Republicans like Hawley are pandering to people’s worst instincts to incite more violence.
Thank you for your support,
Team Ro
