Fulfillment Fund

May 2021 Newsletter

May 1 is also known as Decision Day for high school seniors around the country. It’s the deadline for them to commit to a college to attend in the fall. With some students returning to in-person classes and others still remote, this Decision Day was unlike any other and was celebrated in virtual ways, such as through social media and on television.

There have been a lot of behind-the-scenes discussions between our students and their college counselors that have led up to their decisions. Different students have different needs and desires, so our college counselors helped them find, apply to, and be accepted at their ‘best fit’ schools.

For our students enrolled in our College Success Program, May also represents a major milestone: college graduation! This year, nearly 60 Fulfillment Fund students will be graduating college and getting ready to embark on the next phase of their lives — their careers.

And just like proud parents, we want to take a moment to brag and enjoy our students’ accomplishments. That’s why we’ll be toasting to them at Sip & Celebrate, our virtual happy hour, on May 21st. We hope to see you there!

What It Means to Go To College

Over the last couple of weeks, we decided to ask Fulfillment Fund students what it means to them to be going to college. Many of them are first-generation college-goers in their families, so they are not just fulfilling their own dreams, but also their families' dreams. Read what our students had to say.
