REIMAGINING AMERICAN DEMOCRACY SPEAKERS SERIES
Thursday, May 20, 2021
12:00 p.m. ET
via Zoom
Join us on Thursday, May 20 for the Reimagining American Democracy series' first installment, on the subject of "Democracy in America." The event will feature a conversation between Secretary Condoleezza Rice, director of the Hoover Institution at Stanford University and former secretary of state, and Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms. A panel discussion featuring Congressman Will Hurd (R-TX) and Eric Liu, co-founder and CEO of Citizen University and executive director of the Aspen Institute's Citizenship & American Identity
Program, will be moderated by former CNN correspondent Jeanne Meserve.
Many believe that democracy in America was built on an unequal foundation long in need of fundamental repair. Others argue that the system has already weathered the worst, and that the fundamentals simply need reinforcement. Whether left, right, or center, however, many now agree: democracy in America is in urgent need of progress.
"Reimagining American Democracy" is a monthly virtual series that will address these very topics with discussions by experts in the field, including policymakers, business and religious leaders, journalists, and activists. These forward-thinking, 360° conversations will be centered on one of the most important issues of our time: the future and promise of American democracy. Visit ReimaginingDemocracy.org
