Folks,

As we get closer to a summer full of reunions and reopenings, I wanted to give you a few quick updates from this spring.

Vaccines have been flowing here in Michigan, and I’m so happy to see everyone stepping up to protect themselves and their communities by getting the shot. We just hit a big milestone -- over 50% of all Michigander adults have gotten at least one dose!

We’re making huge progress, and we can’t slow down now. Please, check in with friends and families and make sure they know how to get their shot ASAP.

As we start to enjoy the benefits of the vaccines, my heart soars at the thought of all the happiness to come.

The first public visit I made after the lockdown was to Waterford schools to meet the incredible food service workers preparing family meals through it all. I couldn’t thank them enough -- and couldn’t help the tears of appreciation that sprung to my eyes.

Soon, we’ll share collective experiences like music, meals, and celebrations together again, and our hearts will fill with love.

On Earth Day, I introduced the Plastic Waste Reduction and Recycling Research Act.

Recycling Resource: Rep. Stevens: Feds can set the table for recycling progress. 'U.S. Rep. Haley Stevens, D-Mich., has been a growing voice at the federal level when it comes to plastics recycling.'

This bipartisan legislation will reduce plastic waste and make our country more competitive in the global recycling industry. We face a plastic waste crisis, and this bill is a key investment in solving it.

Finally, we recently got a major update about our race. New Census data confirmed that Michigan will lose a House seat -- that means our district is going to get new voters who have never heard from us before. My team and I are preparing for this once-in-a-decade change, and if you could make a donation to support our efforts, we’d really appreciate it.

That’s all for now, but I’m confident I’ll have more exciting updates for you soon. In Washington, my colleagues and I are excited to do everything we can to achieve President Biden’s ambitious plans to build our country back better.

This is a moment full of opportunity, and I am so happy to have you by my side through it all.

Yours,

Congresswoman Haley Stevens
