Hi John--

We're sharing 4 upcoming events that have to do with wealth redistribution. Check them out below.

It's been almost a year since historic Black-led uprisings changed the landscape of what’s possible, when calls for abolition and to defund the police gained unprecedented traction, and our chapters, organizations, and movements grew exponentially. Many of you met the demands of the moment in many ways, including by meeting the Movement for Black Lives’ call to fund Black-led movements like we want them to win.

But the need to boldly redistribute doesn’t end when the news cycle moves on. While billionaires continue to get richer, the COVID19 pandemic lays bare global inequality, state-sanctioned white supremacist violence steals lives, and so many in our communities lack access to healthcare, housing, and safety.

Redistributing the resources we have access to and organizing others to do the same is one critical way we show up for our communities and our movements. Our community of young people with access to wealth and/or class privilege is on track to redistribute $100 million to social justice movements this year, but it’s going to take all of us to get there. Last year, we collectively pledged $68 million to social justice movements-- can you help us reach that same amount by the end of June? As we launch our annual Spring Redistribution Pledge and Membership drive, we invite you to a series of events to help you skill up and show up for wealth redistribution. All events start at 7pm EST/4pm PST.

Come to one or all of these events to get resourced, supported, and challenged to level up your own redistribution and your organizing. As Mariame Kaba says, “everything worthwhile is done with other people.” So sign the Redistribution Pledge [[link removed]] , join or renew your RG membership [[link removed]] , and commit to redistribution, to belonging, to building power, to moving through difficult terrain and the monumental task of fighting for the equitable distribution of land, wealth, and power together.

Committed to redistribution in our lifetimes and committed to doing it together,

Adam, Caroline, Katie, keithlee, Nadav, Nicole, Nora, Yahya, and the rest of the RG team
