"In 25 Years, the Pay Gap Has Shrunk by Just 8 Cents"

Eight cents, John. That's how much the gender pay gap has shrunk in a quarter of a century.

In over 90 percent of occupations, women still earn less than men. The gender pay gap robs women -- especially Black, brown, and Indigenous women -- of a small fortune over a lifetime of work.

Last month, I voted to pass the Paycheck Fairness Act through the House. This legislation will hold employers accountable for systemic pay discrimination, ban the use of salary history in hiring and setting wages, require employers to report pay data to increase pay transparency, and more.

The pay gap has narrowed by just pennies in the last 25 years. It's past time Washington leaders do something about it. Sign on now to call on the Senate to bring the Paycheck Fairness Act to a vote to help close the gender pay gap for good.

Fair pay shouldn't be seen as a "women's" issue, because it impacts all of us. It's hurting our communities, slowing down our economy, and creating critical barriers to true gender equality.

The average woman would have to work at least 83 extra days to earn what a man makes in just one year. This isn't just an economic issue -- equal pay is about justice, fairness, and who we are as a nation.

I am standing in solidarity with all women workers and calling on the Senate to bring this critical legislation to a vote. Will you join me? Add your name to call on the Senate to vote on the Paycheck Fairness Act.

Thank you,

Dwight
