John, it was electric.
We had Bernie Sanders down in Louisville for a rally for Kentucky’s working class. A whole lot of people braved a little rain and overcast skies to come out and show us love. I have to tell you, it felt familiar in a good way...
Because last time we were on a stage like that, the whole country was watching.
We were shouting, “from the hood to the holler.”
We were telling the nation that Kentucky matters.
We were just starting to tell a story. And I think we are not done telling that story, if you know what I mean.
John, I am strongly considering running for U.S. Senate in Kentucky. But I cannot do it alone. I will not do it alone. The only way for me is with a grassroots movement. That’s why it means so much to have Bernie down here with me rallying the people of Louisville. And that’s why I’m asking for your support today:
Can you sign your name right now if you want to see us jump in the race to take on Rand Paul in Kentucky? Every early backer helps us make this decision with more confidence, knowing we have a broad movement behind us.

Kentucky is one of very few places to have two Republicans in the Senate and a Democrat as governor. It’s more competitive than people would think. We aren’t a “red state.” We are a disenfranchised state. We are a commonwealth where a whole lot of people haven’t been heard in a heck of a long time.
While so many national pundits and politicians write us off, it means the world to me, and to my neighbors, to have someone like Bernie Sanders come down here and say simply: Kentucky is worth fighting for.
John, Kentucky is a place where the number of people who don’t vote outnumber those who do. We can change that by faithfully representing the interests of working families from the hood to the holler. And if we do, folks like Rand Paul could be in for a big surprise this next year.
I have always believed as Matthew says: If you have faith, even the size of a mustard seed, you can speak to a mountain and that mountain has to move. So, I’m asking today if you share my faith in Kentucky. If so, then join us:
Please add your name to say you’ll be with us if we run for U.S. Senate in Kentucky. We can only run if we have enough people on our side.
We are faithful, John. I believe in the people of Kentucky. Bernie believes in us too. And I know you share that faith. This is our time to move mountains.
Thank you for being part of this movement. I love you all,
