Right now, we're gearing up to break new ground with assisted dying bills set to go through parliament in both Scotland and Westminster. Friend, with your support, we could win new laws in both countries before the next UK election – but we need to act fast.
I’ve been doing the maths - if we’re going to pull this off, we urgently need more people on board. Getting over the finish line won’t be easy. Your generosity has helped to get us this far – now we're entering what could be the final stretch we urgently need regular contributions to be sure the campaign has what it needs to win.
To do this we need 300 new members to join this month - Friend, will you be one of them?
With 300 new members we can replicate the incredible work done by campaigners in New Zealand, Australia and California and get two assisted dying bills passed. Progress around the world has shown the global momentum for this issue. With your help, we can strike while the iron is hot,capitalise on this moment, and get closer than ever to changing the law.
We only need to win once - but there’s still a lot to do. In the next 18 months we have plans to up the pressure on the medical bodies to make sure that their stances on assisted dying reflect doctors’ support for a change in position. Together we're stepping up our game in parliament, with our powerful behind the scenes lobbying and supporters like you reaching more MPs than ever before.
It also means that the closer we get to a Bill, the more prepared we can be to counter well-funded opponents who are sure to put up one hell of a fight. With you as a member, we’ll take our next steps together, stay on the front foot and lead the debate to victory.
