John, amazingly, I've been one of very few Republicans voicing concerns about the dangers President Biden's $6 billion in proposed spending will do to America's long-term economic health.
It’s an issue that more Republicans need to be talking about, because this unrestrained spending and our disregard for the destructive impact of growing debt poses an increasing risk of fiscal crisis, lower income, higher interest payments and a weakened ability to respond to other urgent problems. It’s a bomb that could explode at any time if Americans and our elected leaders don’t wake up – and speak up.
The future success of the GOP rests upon the Party's ability to put forward conservative policy ideas to address our nation's largest challenges. Where are the proposals to cut wasteful spending, rein in the size of government, address rising healthcare costs, the environment and a 21st century immigration plan?
The Impact of Biden's Spending:
It's always helpful to have graphics to help make the point about the dangerous road our country is headed down. At this moment, the national debt is more than $28,000,000,000,000 and that's before factoring in much of the new spending proposals! And just like taking a loan from your local bank, that debt accrues interest over time. The longer that debt is held, the larger the debt total becomes. This is the definition of runaway spending: Every American should be alarmed by this, especially the younger ones. They are the ones that will pay the heavy cost of the spending decisions being made today.
My Recent Activities:
I've been speaking out as often as I can about this runaway spending and the danger that our growing debt poses to our democracy and economy. Anything you can do to help share this message is appreciated!
• My recent CNN interview explaining the dangers of President Biden's $6 trillion in new spending without any government reform to pay for it: Watch here.
• My comments about how absurd it is that the GOP is fighting within rather than offering Americans a conservative/hopeful message about our country's greatest challenges: Watch here.
• Why I think the GOP attempt to remove Cong. Liz Cheney from her leadership position will backfire: Watch here.
• I discussed the state of America's politics on New Hampshire Talk Radio: Listen here.
• I've worked to support the efforts of FixUSNow.org to drive policy ideas to the forefront of our political discussion.
• My recent op-ed about the amount of non-Covid related spending in the $1.9 trillion bill that was jammed through Congress: Read here.
John, I'm going to keep up this fight to get the Republican Party focused back on offering better ideas and policy solutions. This is the pathway to retaking the U.S. House in 2022 and paving the way to the White House again.
Anything you can do to help us raise the funds to grow this message is very much appreciated. Thanks for all that you're doing!
-John
