The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention is thrilled to announce that comedian and storyteller Hasan Minhaj will be hosting our 32nd annual Lifesavers Gala! This is the first time this uplifting annual event will be held virtually, allowing people everywhere to take part in this very important night.
First achieving fame as a senior correspondent on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and his one-hour Netflix comedy special Homecoming King, which earned him a Peabody Award, Hasan was listed among TIME's 100 most influential people in the world, and won another Peabody Award, for his Netflix series Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj.
The Lifesavers Gala is a chance to come together, and reflect on the accomplishments we’ve made each year, thanks to our collaborative partnerships, our volunteers, and those who use their personal experiences to fuel change and make vital contributions to this important cause. Hasan, who regularly brings depth, intelligence and sensitivity to explore the modern world, is the perfect person to help us raise awareness of the fight against this leading cause of death.
The event, which takes place on May 19, will feature performances and appearances from exciting guests, including filmmaker Zack Snyder, actor Courtney B. Vance, musicians Louis Knight and We Three, football stars Dak Prescott & Solomon Thomas, Olympic runner Alexi Pappas, and political figures David Axelrod and Karl Rove.
In keeping with the spirit of this year’s virtual event, we are offering a range of ticket prices starting at $50. We invite you to take part in this inspiring occasion, and help us create a world without suicide.
