Henry Smith MP update – Local Elections 2021
Remember to vote today
I would not contact you outside of my regular monthly bulletins unless it was for something important, and I am writing to remind you to vote in the local elections taking place in Crawley today.
At polling stations across town you can cast your vote for your:
- Crawley Borough Councillors
- West Sussex County Councillors
- Sussex Police & Crime Commissioner
These elections are important as we decide who represents us on Crawley Borough and West Sussex County Councils, and how they spend funds provided by central government as we build back better from the Covid-19 pandemic.
Today is also an opportunity to choose the Sussex Police & Crime Commissioner, who oversees how crime is tackled locally including increasing officer numbers.
I voted in person at my local polling station earlier today – conducted in line with Coronavirus safety protocols. Polling stations are open until 10pm and I encourage everyone in Crawley to take time to cast their ballot (if you are registered to vote by post but have been unable to return your ballots by Royal Mail, you can still hand them in to the local polling station until 10pm).
With my best wishes
