Hey John,
Last month, I emailed you to announce Aid and Alliance [[link removed]] , a resource-sharing program to support frontline BIPOC organizers and groups fighting everyday gun violence. I’m SO excited to give you all an update on how things are going!
When we launched, MFOL chapters across the country held mutual aid events in their community -- giving out meals, gift cards, groceries, PPE, socks, and so much more.
In just a few weeks, Aid and Alliance has given out 5,000 bags of supplies , handed out 39,371 individual items, and served 30,000 families and individuals nationwide . These numbers are AMAZING -- and it’s just the beginning. For our next phase, we're accepting applications from BIPOC youth-led organizations in the Baltimore/DMV Metro Area, St. Louis, Memphis, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Houston, Chicago, and Phoenix, with plans to distribute $500K to organizations who are doing community violence-prervention work.

Aid and Alliance is part of our goal to end ALL forms of gun violence in America. And to do that, it all starts at the community level and addressing the conditions that cause people to turn to guns. BIPOC youth organizers in 8 cities can apply for grants to receive direct mutual aid.
