Dear John,
Creative industries echo our call for trade rescue
More than 300 creative organisations have joined thousands of Best for Britain supporters in calling for Johnson to keep his promise and sort out visa-free touring for performers in Europe.
Overthree quarters <[link removed]>of artists have said that Brexit will stop them performing in Europe, according to research by Encore.
Costly bureaucracy is impacting the music industry’s bounce-back from COVID. And the creative sector is just one of many facing a post-Brexit crisis.

Make sure you’ve signed the open letter to Boris Johnson, calling on him to act now, as he promised, to help the UK’s creative sector. We need the Prime Minister to take responsibility for his mess and level-up trade in services with Europe.

Organisations like the Edinburgh Fringe and the Royal Shakespeare Company have warned "work will be lost and businesses will go under" <[link removed]>if the Government continues to ignore the damage inflicted on the industry by the inadequate UK-EU trade deal.
The UK needs frictionless mobility on the Continent for all workers if it is going to bounce back from one of the worst COVID records on the planet.
The sad reality is Brexit was always designed to limit our freedom of movement. But that doesn’t mean we can’t fight for better conditions for ordinary workers.

That means securing visa waivers for performers touring in Europe, the mutual recognition of professional qualifications and an open and ongoing regulatory dialogue with the EU.
Sign the open letter to the Prime Minister today. Let’s find practical solutions to the trade chaos we now face.

Boris Johnson promised artists they could continue to tour Europe after we left the EU.
But his trade deal failed to deliver. Join the thousands of people who have already stood up to say: that’s not good enough.
Best wishes,
Cary Mitchell,
Director of Operations, Best for Britain
