Heartbeat Act passes the Texas House; let's build on this momentum!

Friend,
Today your efforts secured an incredible victory for Life. The Texas Heartbeat Act (SB 8 authored by Senator Bryan Hughes and sponsored by Representative Shelby Slawson) was passed by the Texas House of Representatives!
The Heartbeat Act will abolish elective abortions as early as six weeks, when the preborn child’s heartbeat is detectable by the most common methods. The Heartbeat Act is the strongest Pro-Life bill to ever reach the Texas House floor and a critical bill in the Pro-Life Priority Agenda.
But this bill has a few more steps before becoming law...

|
1.) First, the Texas House must hold one more procedural vote tomorrow;
2.) Then the bill will go to the Senate for final approval;
3.) Then would be signed into law by the governor!
The Heartbeat Act would be slated to take effect September 1, 2021.
Friend, our work is not finished. Let's build on this momentum!
The other Pro-Life Priority Bills, including the Preborn NonDiscrimination Act, ending the deadly 10-Day Rule, and the Texas Abolition Strategy, have yet to be brought to a vote on the House floor.
Texas Right to Life's legislative team is working extremely hard every single day to ensure legislators pass as many life-saving measures as possible.
Friend, will you power our legislative team to defend Life at the Texas Capitol by donating today?
