I’ve got some breaking news for you,
John.

Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner just exonerated his 20th
person in just 3 years in office. ⁣

That’s more than any DA in American history. It’s more than any
organization in the past 3 years. It’s unprecedented. Why? Because most
DA’s simply will not do the work to root out corruption from their own
office. And they won’t hold corrupt cops accountable.

But let me tell you a painful story. ⁣

That man right there helped rob a jewelry store in 2010. The owner was
shot and killed. And the main gunman was shot and killed. ⁣But this man,
who EVERY WITNESS and EVERY EXPERT said was very short and about 5 feet 7
inches tall, walked right out. ⁣

Weeks later, police arrested a different man named Obina Oniyah — WHO IS 6
FEET 3 INCHES TALL.⁣

Not a single shred of evidence, NOTHING, tied Obina to this case. He
didn’t even know the people who were involved. ⁣

ENTER the Philly Police.

2 detectives, including 1 who is still on the force, BEAT THE HELL out of
Obina.

Witnesses testified in court that they heard this go on for 8 hours. ⁣

Those detectives were James Pitt, who has been found to have faked
evidence and beat up people in 3 other cases with Black men that have
since been exonerated, and Ohmarr Jenkins who is still on the force. ⁣

Working with the Homicide Division of the Philadelphia DA’s Office, where
Carlos Vega worked for 35 years, they then claimed that Obina confessed. ⁣

With no evidence at all tying him to the crime, the people, the gun, the
store, or ANYTHING, a jury convicted Obina and sentenced him to LIFE IN
PRISON for a crime he had NOTHING to do with. ⁣

And the man in this photo walked free.⁣

This is why elections matter.⁣

In 13 days Philadelphia gets to choose its next District Attorney. ⁣

We can go backwards with Carlos Vega — whose office convicted Black men
all over Philadelphia for crimes they didn’t commit or we can go with the
future in Larry Krasner.

Larry fired Carlos Vega for corruption. He should lose his law license: ⁣
