Team,
We fought hard to ensure every Alabamian was counted in the Census -- and our work paid off:
Trump and national Republicans tried their hardest to stop people from completing the Census. They did their best to keep us from receiving critical funding. A recent study shows that Alabama receives $1,600 for every person counted in the Census -- which turns into funding for Medicaid programs, infrastructure projects, and community development.
Our number one goal was making sure everyone in Alabama’s 7th District got counted.
We sent reminder after reminder, and now I want to say thank you! Your responses made a difference. Alabama will keep all 7 of our Congressional Districts and get much-needed funding for healthcare, education, and so much more!
But the fight isn’t over.
Now that we’ve made our voices count by taking the Census, we need to keep the momentum going. I’m working hard to make sure our state gets all the funding we need for roads, housing, healthcare, and more -- especially as we recover from the ongoing pandemic. We have a lot of work to do, and I can’t do it alone. Can you chip in $25 so we can keep fighting for progress?
A few months before the deadline, I reached out and asked how you felt about Republicans trying to block people from filling out the Census. Your responses let us know how alarmed you felt and that you wanted to make your voices heard.
Well, I heard you. We made sure Alabama counted and now it’s time to mobilize our grassroots campaign so we can prepare for the next fight. Can I count you in?
Let’s keep it up,
Terri
