John,

Have you seen pictures of dead stranded whales? It turns out — too often — that their stomachs are full of plastic! Plastic debris causes the deaths of more than a million seabirds every year, as well as more than 100,000 marine mammals.

And if that weren’t enough, the plastics industry — fueled by fracking — is actively driving climate change. In fact, over 99% of plastic is made from chemicals sourced from fossil fuels, and emissions from fossil fuels are the dominant cause of climate change.

Climate change is projected to be the main cause of mass extinctions in the 21st century; whales, dolphins and other marine mammals are not immune. The rapid warming of the planet is leading to a loss of habitat for whales and dolphins and greater competition for a diminishing food system. It is also affecting the timing and ranges of their migration, their distribution and even their ability to reproduce. Unless bold actions are taken, some whale and dolphin populations may not be able to adapt quickly enough to survive. Will you donate $37, or whatever you can, to help put an end to the plastic industry by banning fracking once and for all? Donate now and together we will build a better future for our oceans and the communities that rely on it!

John, with your help we are challenging the plastic and fossil fuel industries. Climate change is a fundamental threat to whales, dolphins, manatees and many other ocean mammals.

People and the wildlife we cherish are more important than corporate profits! That’s why we must ban fracking, stop the plastics explosion and stand with communities to fight for a better future. Please join us!
