The Biden Administration announced this week that it will increase the number of refugees admitted into the U.S. to 62,500, a big improvement over the Trump-era cap of 15,000 refugees.

This announcement is an important step forward in undoing the Trump Administration’s harmful legacy of xenophobia, but America must do more for refugees.

That’s why Gerry re-introduced the Lady Liberty Act in February, a bill that would set a goal of admitting no less than 125,000 refugees annually.
