Take action with John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Day Indivisibles,
Since January, you've been showing up to fight back against Republican attacks on our voting rights in state legislatures across the country. You've visited your members of Congress’ district offices, you’ve delivered 51-star flags, you've written letters to the editor, made calls, and more -- all to demand that our elected officials take action to combat the GOP's attempts to further rig the rules in their favor.
On Saturday, across the country, Indivisibles will show up with their neighbors to honor the memory of Congressman John Lewis and his legacy of making good trouble for voting rights. Together, we'll raise our voices (In cars! On bikes! On foot!) to push forward critical structural democracy reforms to remake our democracy for the people.
There are more than 150 events happening across the country this Saturday, May 8, for the John Lewis Voting Rights Day of Action -- click here to find one near you and RSVP now!
Right now is a historic moment to fundamentally reshape our democracy into one that works for everyone and fight back against Republican attempts to mount additional hurdles to voting, predominantly for Black people and other people of color. But it’s going to take all of us.
It’s time that we demand our elected officials use their Democratic trifecta to and this very small window of opportunity to pass the For the People Act, the John Lewis Voting Rights Act, and make D.C. the 51st state (and the first plurality-Black state in the nation) without letting the filibuster get in the way.
Join us on Saturday at a socially distanced "votercade" or other event happening on your home turf.
Thanks for all that you do.
In solidarity, Indivisible Team
P.S. There's also going to be a National Broadcast at 12pm Eastern Time /9am Pacific Time that you can join before events or if you're unable to attend in person. Click here to RSVP and take action virtually with us!
