We wish we were making this up, but Republican Senate hopeful J.D. Vance actually tweeted this:
We want to know, how is universal child care harmful to "normal people"? From where we stand, expanding access to universal child care is beneficial for all Ohioans. J.D. Vance is wrong, plain and simple. Judging by how many people took offense to his tweet, it looks like others agree (that's called getting "ratioed" on Twitter).
Right now child care costs in America -- especially in Ohio -- have surged because of the pandemic. Joe Biden, Sen. Sherrod Brown, and Ohio Democrats are working hard to expand child care options for working parents. It's not "class warfare," it's common sense.
But here's the thing, Vance may run for the open Ohio Senate seat, and if he wins, it's clear he'll do everything in his power to fight against universal child care.
So we're fighting back. Against Vance and his most recent bad take, and against all of the Ohio Republicans who are standing in the way of progress. Pitch in $3 or more right away to help us build the infrastructure we need to flip Ohio blue and elect a senator who will fight for Ohio families.
Thanks,
Team ODP
The Ohio Democratic Party is working year-round to elect Democrats who will fight for working families all over the Buckeye State. We have the chance to flip not only Ohio's open US Senate seat, but to elect a Democratic governor as well. Will you pitch in $3 or more right away? Every dollar you give helps build a blue Ohio.
