Tomorrow - May 6: Rally For Transit Service!

The Metropolitan Transporation Commission (MTC) is our regional transit funding agency, which means they receive the funds from the federal government for public transit and then distribute that funding to local agencies.

MTC plans to hold on to $1.7B of federal recovery transit funding until late July, after San Francisco will adopt its budget. This will prevent a full return of transit while transit riders are being passed up and many Muni routes are still suspended.

We need service restored as quickly as possible! Ridership is returning faster than expected. If service isn't ready to handle demand, it will hurt our recovery; hurt our students; hurt our essential workers. It will leave us in worse traffic and we'll miss our chance to "build back better" for an equitable, sustainable future.

Join us Thursday, May 6, at 12:30, along with a regional coalition of social justice advocates, climate activists, unions, and more for a rally and march from the Transbay Terminal to the MTC office in downtown San Francisco.

Our transit movement is stronger than ever

Thanks to you, we signed up over 100 members as part of Membership Month this April and raised over $16,000!

A broad and growing membership means more clout at City Hall. It means a strong constituency that cares about affordable, efficient, accessible, and easy-to-use transit. It means your voice, and the voice of transit riders across the city, can be heard.

We're uniquely positioned to make Muni the world class transit system we know it can be. We look forward to taking this momentum forward to ensure full Muni service is restored as soon as possible and transit continues to play a vital role in our pandemic recovery.

Tell Muni what you think about their Temporary Service Plan

Is there a line you depend on that needs to be brought back?

Love the 5 minute frequencies on the 9, 14, or 38?

The SFMTA Board of Directors is discussing their Temporary Service Plan and how it relates to providing more equitable service at their next board meeting on May 18th. Now is your chance to tell SFMTA what you think about their service changes during the pandemic, including why they need to return to 100% pre-pandemic service as soon as possible.

John- Our records indicate that you're not an active member of SF Transit Riders. Join today!
