Hi John,
After our latest protest at Whole Foods, the company has now filed a statewide restraining order against Direct Action Everywhere and “everyone acting on behalf of Direct Action Everywhere or its mission.” In other words, if you go to a Whole Foods in California, you can’t ask questions about the animal cruelty, you can’t hold a sign, you can’t stand outside the store and use your first amendment right to free speech. Heck, you arguably can’t even wear a DxE t-shirt! That’s how threatened Whole Foods feels by the truth that we are exposing. Rather than address the animal cruelty DxE has documented, they’re doing everything they can to keep us silent.
But do you know where you haven’t been banned? The Whole Foods Facebook page.
Go to the Whole Foods Facebook page now and leave a comment asking the company to address the animal cruelty at its farms instead of banning people for asking questions.
Since DxE first began investigating Whole Foods farms, millions of people have seen the horrific conditions on social media and in mainstream press including the New York Times. And since the company’s acquisition by Amazon, Whole Foods has responded with increasing repression.
We can see the impact we’re having and the power of the truth, but we need to keep the pressure on if we’re going to get a response from Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos -- the richest person on the planet -- and finally put an end to the animal abuse. Can you help?
Cassie
