Let me tell you about what I've actually been doing. In April, I joined a small group of lawmakers for a meeting with the Biden White House. I went with a message: that we can and must make bold progress on infrastructure, immigration, police reform, and other issues Americans care about -- and we can do it this year if we work together.

Some Republicans were at the table with us, and I left the White House with renewed faith in the fact that, while our parties may be wildly different, our constituents want a lot of the same things. Now it's on us to deliver.
