Across the country, Republicans are doing everything in their power to make it harder for people to vote.

First, the state of Georgia passed onerous voter suppression legislation to curb mail-in voting and make it a crime to offer water to voters waiting in line.

Now, Texas and Florida are following Georgia’s lead by pushing new voter suppression legislation.

Make no mistake about it, after Americans voted in overwhelming numbers last year to send Donald Trump packing, Republicans are trying to put up more barriers between Black and Brown voters and the ballot box.

We can’t let that happen. My House Democratic colleagues and I stood together to pass the For The People Act to reform our democracy, protect voting rights, and get special interest money out of our elections.
