Public Service Recognition Week is in full swing and we are so proud to be a union of public servants. From the Transportation Security Administration to the Environmental Protection Agency to the Railroad Administration to the more than 70 government agencies where we represent workers, we are proud of the work our members do each and every day.

We are honored to recognize your great work and advocate alongside you for better pay, working conditions, and a voice on the job. This week, especially, is an important moment to remind our lawmakers that the work we do deserves fair compensation.

We ask that you join us today and throughout the week in urging your lawmaker to cosponsor the FAIR Act, which would give federal workers a much deserved 3.2% pay raise in 2022. After all the sacrifices we’ve made during the pandemic, 3.2 is the least they can do!

During Public Service Recognition Week, we will be engaging with lawmakers on this important legislation as we uplift the contribution of public servants across the country. We encourage you to visit our Public Service Recognition Week webpage for more information on our week of action and ways you can share why you entered public service.

• Link to take action on the FAIR Act. Please note: do not take action on duty time or using government equipment/resources.
• Facebook frames that you can add to your profile picture showing that you are a public servant and #ProudToBeAFGE. Please note: do not use an image with you in uniform or at the worksite.
• Social media graphics to share on your personal accounts about the amazing work of government employees. Post these graphics with hashtag #WhyIServe and share your story of public service.
• This week's AFGE Insider article where we highlight four amazing public servants who are also AFGE activists.
