Ask Your State Legislators to Support the Early Childhood Block Grant today!
This Teacher Appreciation Week, join Start Early and other advocates to ask the Illinois General Assembly to prioritize the early childhood workforce in the fiscal year 2022 budget with an increase of $50 million to the Early Childhood Block Grant(ECBG).
A $50 million dollar investment can:
-
Increase salaries for staff and home visitors in our state-funded pre-k and early childhood programs, prioritizing those in community-based settings
-
Expand Infant/Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation services
-
Create a pool of flexible funds so that programs can access additional supports for program improvement Our state’s early learning and care providers have kept Illinois thriving, working and moving forward in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Support our teachers today by contacting state lawmakers and asking them to support a $50 million increase to the ECBG.
