Our most formal greetings Comrade
We are pleased to invite you to our first official Robert's Rules Training on Tuesday, May 11 at 7PM (on Zoom) with DSA organizer Alec Ramsay-Smith. While Akron DSA tends to run informal meetings, Roberts Rules is a tool we can use to help facilitate respectful debate. Larger meetings (including potential state-level organizing and national DSA convention) rely heavily on procedure and we want all of our members to feel comfortable participating!
Akron DSA will elect 3 delegates and 1 alternate to represent us at 2021 Convention at our May General Meeting. All members in good standing are eligible to run, but we are asking candidates to participate in a Pre-Convention Conference to prepare. Delegates are also responsible for discussing convention resolutions with the chapter before the convention and reporting back after. This will probably be the easiest DSA Convention to attend, as it is virtual. All are encouraged to run, and we are excited to engage in this democratic process!
