Dear John,
We have a small window of opportunity to act on the climate crisis—and Maine Conservation Voters (MCV) needs your help.
Here in Maine, you can see the devastating impact on our plants and animals—everything from Maine’s iconic moose to carbon-capturing peat bogs—as our climate warms. The billion-dollar lobster industry is shifting northward toward Canada’s Bay of Fundy. Warmer temperatures are taking a toll on the state’s winter sports industry.
We all feel the impacts of climate change, but we are not all affected equally. Children, elderly, ailing, and low-income Mainers are particularly vulnerable. Maine has one of the highest childhood asthma rates in the country as a result of air pollution—worsened by climate change.
Addressing this crisis requires the collective work of us all. Here in Maine, you can make a difference by partnering with MCV.
Please join me in supporting Maine Conservation Voters today Last year, MCV worked with allies to develop a strong Climate Action Plan to meet the state’s goals of reducing carbon emissions by 80% and using 100% renewable energy by 2050.
MCV’s primary focus this year is passing key elements of Maine’s Climate Action Plan in the state legislature, working to implement the highest policy priorities in the plan, and increasing public support for climate action in Maine with a focus on racial and economic justice.
MCV knows that Maine's historic Climate Action Plan is the state’s best chance to reduce carbon emissions — and MCV staff will do everything in their power to ensure that it succeeds.
Your support is essential to make sure it becomes a reality. Thank you, - Jennifer Melville, Vice President, MCV Board CONNECT WITH US: unsubscribe |
