Like many of the mothers I help, Rose is her family’s sole breadwinner. She supports Evance and Catherine on less than $2 a day. That’s why I bring them food and make sure to check-in with how Rose is dealing with the stress when I visit. This way I can encourage the kids to stay focused on their studies and continue to attend a Project HOPE-supported teen group where they can get the medications they need.
“I want my children to grow up and become self-reliant,” Rose once told me. I’m grateful to help her get the support and health care she needs so Evance can grow up healthy, and Catherine, who dreams of becoming a nurse, can continue her studies.
There are so many people around the world making sacrifices every day for their children.
