John,

Last week, we gathered together as a community to march here in Washington D.C. as a show of our strength, our resilience, and our tenacity. It was a real pleasure to join so many other transgender people and those who care about us. The progress we’ve made was on full display - but progress is not victory and there is still much to be done. It is, however, a step towards justice.

Every day, an army of trans advocates and allies across this country wake up ready to fight for that justice. Every day, we wake up determined to make your voices heard in city councils, state capitals, and the halls of Congress. We won’t stop until every single trans person has the life they deserve because each and every one of you deserves that much love.

I’ve attached a couple of photos of the march below. For those of you who were able to join us, thank you. For those of you who couldn’t, know that we were marching for you, too.

In Solidarity,

Rodrigo Heng-Lehtinen, NCTE Deputy Executive Director
