Dear John,

Wendell Berry has said that the good life requires a connection to place.

But how do you pursue the good life in a world that increasingly requires uprooting yourself?

That’s a question we’ll explore tomorrow night with a young writer who is drawing comparisons to Wendell Berry.

Tune in tomorrow (May 6) at 7 pm ET ([link removed]) for a special live episode of Conservative Conversations with ISI.

You’ll hear from Gracy Olmstead, an acclaimed journalist and the author of the new book Uprooted: Recovering the Legacy of the Places We’ve Left Behind.

Gracy knows this subject well. She was born and raised in a small Idaho farm town but now lives outside of Washington, D.C.

I want to make sure you hear her incredible insights on the experience of uprooting yourself ([link removed]) —and especially its costs.

Gracy will discuss:
* what “rootedness” means in a rootless world

* how to resist the dangerous temptation of nostalgia

* what we sacrifice for profit and “progress”

* why efficiency and low consumer prices aren’t the only values worth defending . . .

* . . .and much more!

You’ll see why the American Spectator hails Uprooted as “an indispensable guide for those who are wrestling with their place in an increasingly rootless world.”

Because this is a live episode, you’ll be able to submit your own questions in real time.

So reserve your spot now! ([link removed])
