Are you a fully qualified and EHORB registered Environmental Health Officer with housing and HHSRS experience? ? Are you self-motivated and enthusiastic with a keen desire to improve housing conditions for the people of Nottingham? If so, you?re just who we need to join our team of dedicated professional officers.? ?

As we have over 31,000 privately rented properties we are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated officer to help deliver our highly ambitious aims. As well as professional environmental health and enforcement officers, the team? includes administrative support, supervisors and team leader, as well as dedicated officers to deal with landlord engagement, ASB and tenancy issues and project work.

Nottingham is a dynamic and popular city which is in an area of high housing demand, with a high percentage of privately rented houses many of which are not adequately maintained. We are determined to continue to improve the private rented sector in Nottingham, to reduce anti-social behaviour and drive up housing conditions. The Council has been successful in attracting rogue landlord funding on 2 occasions and already has an additional licensing scheme in place.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:?

  • A degree or diploma in Environmental Health and a certificate of registration issued by the EHRB or equivalent.
  • Extensive knowledge, understanding and awareness of Environmental Health enforcement legislation and its application.
  • A specialism in one of the following areas, but with the knowledge and ability to work in any of the fields below as required:

    1. Food safety, food standards, drinking water, health protection
    2. Health and safety, sports grounds safety, licensing, health protection
    3. Housing standards
    4. Housing licensing and compliance
    ? ? ? 5.? Pollution control, environmental protection
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to direct investigations resulting in prosecutions or other legal sanctions in accordance with relevant procedural and evidential rules.
  • Ability to develop and support team members and manage performance systems to ensure effective service delivery

An exciting opportunity to join the Children's Placement Service and make a real difference for Nottingham City's Children in Care. As Team Manager, you will lead on the effective management of?Chidren in Care?placement referrals. You will provide case management and proactive decision making for each referral to the Placement Service, to ensure that every child is placed in accordance with their assessed short, medium and long term needs, in well-matched, quality and value for money placements. You will work closely with social care colleagues, to support the achievement of improved outcomes for Children in Care, working within the legislative and statutory planning frameworks, Government guidance, the City Council's core values and strategic aims and the service area's policy and procedure.


ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:?
  • Experience as a Social Care Practitioner with children and families in a multicultural environment
  • Knowledge and experience of current social work legislation, issues and good practice, in respect of children and families
  • Ability to provide leadership to?ensure effective team work
