Last week, President Biden gave his first joint address to Congress, outlining a progressive vision for America that every single Future Forum Member stands behind.
In his address, he made a demand of lawmakers: Put H.R. 1 — The For The People Act — on his desk, and he will sign it into law.
Passing H.R. 1 would end partisan gerrymandering, make Election Day a holiday, overturn the disastrous Citizens United decision, and expand automatic and same-day voter registration. It would expand voting rights and protect our democracy for generations to come.

After a record-breaking number of young Americans turned out to vote in the 2020 elections and delivered a win for Democrats in the House, Senate, and White House, Mitch McConnell and Republicans in Congress have been fighting to stop H.R. 1 — pushing states to pass voter suppression bills that would devastate our democracy and be catastrophic for young voters and people of color.
If we can’t get H.R. 1 passed before the 2022 midterms, Republicans will attempt to cheat their way to victory by disenfranchising MILLIONS of young voters with their voter suppression bills.
