It’s an honor to have this endorsement. The Jim Owles club has been fighting for LGBTQ+ rights in NYC since 2004 — and having their endorsement speaks highly of Dianne’s plan for Gender and Sexuality Equity.

Dianne understands that our identities and expression impact how we receive healthcare, how we’re treated by police, how we gain access to social services, how we access housing, how we’re approached professionally and so much more, and she’s committed to working toward full equity and justice for the LGBTQ+ community.

When she was the Executive Director of The Door, she launched a street outreach program on the Christopher St. Pier for homeless LGBTQ+ youth — and that program later expanded to a drop-in program for homeless youth and a supportive housing development.

As mayor, she’ll expand resources for the LGBTQ+ community, decriminalize sex work (not via the Nordic model), invest in organizations owned by LGBTQ+ New Yorkers and put the full weight of the office behind advocating for legislation at the state level to increase LGBTQ+ protections.
