John,

After the tragic killing of Daunte Wright at the hands of the police and as we near the one year-anniversary of George Floyd’s death, we are once again reminded of the urgent need for comprehensive action to save Black lives.

Our words mean nothing without subsequent action. That’s why Barbara and her Democratic colleagues in the House passed the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act — a bill to mandate sweeping police reforms at the federal level.

But with the bill stalled in the Senate by Mitch McConnell, we’re lifting up our voices to demand that they take action right now. Add your name to join Barbara, President Biden, and advocates everywhere in calling on the Senate to pass the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act. → [[link removed]]

Last month, the door to accountability was opened when Derek Chauvin was convicted on all counts for the murder of George Floyd.

But that should serve as nothing more than a starting point. We will never fully realize justice until we take meaningful measures to prevent that from ever happening again.

The House’s bill would ban chokeholds and no-knock warrants, end qualified immunity, and create a national registry of police misconduct. These are urgent, sensible solutions that will save Black lives.

Barbara was an original co-sponsor of the bill, and now she needs your help to amplify the pressure in Washington and ensure it reaches President Biden’s desk.

Will you sign your name to demand the Senate pass the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act ? [[link removed]]
