Hello,

Happy National Teacher Appreciation Day! As the son of two public school teachers, I am so grateful for the work of our educators. And since this pandemic began, they’ve stepped up in so many ways. So, today especially, I want to uplift our educators and thank them for their hard work.

When COVID-19 closed our schools last year, our teachers found creative and innovative ways to continue serving their students. Many rallied together to get students laptops and internet access at home. They worked hard to keep class in session in whatever ways they could. They’ve helped kids deal with the stress and strain of the past year.

Before National Teacher Appreciation Day ends, will you join me in thanking our nation's educators for all their hard work? Sign our card to say "thank you" to America's teachers.

I'm proud of the work we've been able to accomplish in Congress to support our teachers, our schools, and our kids. The American Rescue Plan provided critical resources to help our schools re-open safely and to provide resources to make up for learning loss. And just last month, we secured over $12.5 million for rural schools in Washington state. These critical funds will be instrumental in helping communities across our state.

Education is the doorway to economic opportunity. By empowering and supporting our teachers, we can set up our kids for future success. That's why I'll never stop fighting for our teachers in Congress -- they are some of our country's most essential workers of all.
